I stared at my body for a few seconds before snapping out of it and started to look for Gimpatsu and his ghost.
I spotted him sitting right next to his headless body, staring at it dumbly.
He also bore the plug and chain of doom.
I ran towards him, but was stopped when a huge black claw crashed into the ground right into me, making rocks fly everywhere and I felt my chain snap.
I screamed and couldn't do anything but stand there and keep screaming.

I remember everything about being alive. I was born in the human world on the twenty-fourth of Juunigatsu, fourteen years ago. So was Gimpatsu, though I was three minutes older than him. We were fraternal twins, and we loved each other even before we knew it.
I had a mother and a father. Their names were Ichimaru Kotetsu and Akatsuki Sakura.

I woke up.
"I'm…not dead?" I muttered softly.
I sprang up . Maybe that meant Gimpatsu…
My head pounded and I fell back, hitting a pillow. Where was I? Why was I alive? I closed my eyes for a while and waited for the pain to subside. I reached a hand up and felt bandages around my head.
I opened my eyes and, without getting up, examined my surroundings.
I was laying on a white futon with white sheets and a white pillow. I was dressed in a kimono that felt like something suspiciously similar to silk. My rags-for-clothes and w

"Are we gonna die?" he asked softly.
I stared hard into his narrow red eyes and knew that he wanted the truth.
Fine.
"Yes. Probably."
"It's for real this time. We're not going to be reborn again or anything. Because we already died once and now we've lost our second chance," he said. It wasn't a question. He knew it.
"Yes," I said again.
"If I die first, will you…will you stay…?" He started sobbing, shaking uncontrollably.
